Cool Finding!

We were enjoying our Sunday evening lounging on our deck and sipping ice tea as Ed looked up at the roof of the gazebo. "Hey, that looks like a birds nest doesn't it?". It sure did and it was. This was definitely a new nest because the gazebo has only been up for a month. We felt bad having to remove it, but we eat under there so we kind of had to do it. Luckily there were no eggs inside, even though it would have been cool to show Josie! It was so neat to see inside. I'm not sure why it felt so foreign to me, but I was so intrigued by it. The weaving that the little bird had done is just amazing. Josie thought the nest was beautiful and was so excited to hold it, but like most 4 year olds, she quickly began to take it apart out of curiosity. We tucked it into another tree (at an unreachable height) and now get to enjoy it a little longer. Hopefully the momma bird wasn't laying eggs anytime soon. Afterward, Josie showed us her bird impersonation and then her dinosaur one.

A fresh start on a crisp morning!

Time to get back to the things we enjoy and start living again. We've had lots of stress for what seems like forever now, but basically the last two years. That probably contributed to my lack of blogging, I figured why blog when its depressing stuff to read right? Things are definitely looking good as of this week. So, this morning felt inspiring and new and I had the urge to get out of bed early and play with my girl outside. We did some chalk and exploring. It's a tricky one because Josie really enjoys doing her own thing so that leaves me feeling like I'm not as involved as I could be, but when I get too involved she gets bossy or distant so I'm looking for a happy middle. Don't get me wrong, she loves me dearly, but she likes to do things her way. This tends to only be an issue with me and Ed and not with her peers so much anymore. Maybe mom and dad are just not cool enough already, lol. Anyways, we did have a good time this morning, I did more observing then play, which was okay, the air was crisp and it was still fun. I love that I have red tulips in my yard and tons of little birdies. Can you find him?

Someone needs to show me how to play hopscotch, we clearly don't have a clue do we Josie? LOL! I think you start with one square and then two squares and I believe there is a total of 10. I shall Google it.

We finally got to check out a Christmas present, the spray chalk. Wow, do you go through that stuff fast. We quickly switched to the "old school" chalk. Nice, to finally see what the spray chalk is all about though, maybe we were doing that wrong too, lol.
